As a marketing student I entered Swinburne’s Venture Cup competition for business planning. I knew it was a prestigious award that could open up a lot of doors for my skin care business, Lily Loves Pearl. The competition gave my business structure and made me accountable for meeting deadlines and following through on my strategies. I was thrilled when we won, and the $10,000 prize money was a great cash injection for the business that will go towards our advertising and promotional plan.Lily Loves Pearl has been my passion for the past five years. I realised that there was a niche market in the skincare industry that was not being filled. There were no products that were 100% natural, used organic ingredients yet were effectual, smelt great, with a rapid absorption rate and gave measurable results.
