With an interest in drinks, food, restaurants and bars it was easy deciding that I wanted to study hospitality management. The practical cooking classes have been a favourite of mine, as well as the field trips to breweries and wineries.
I have also gained a much greater understanding of the industry and expectations that customers have.
In the recent Waiter of the Year competition I won the Best Communicator Award. This has opened up a lot of opportunities for me, including working at Flemington during the Spring Racing Carnival. In the next few years I hope to work and travel through Europe, and ultimately I’d love to run a successful bar or restaurant.”
