Course Development, Delivery and Assessment

This page provides details and links regarding forms required for the development, delivery and assessment of a course.

Pre-planning
When planning for the development of a new course, it is necessary to provide details of the course, funding delivery details, market demand, resourcing and industry validation.
Rationale for Extension to Scope of Registration

Planning
The Course Delivery and Assessment plan provides details of delivery strategies and locations, assessment strategies and resources required.
Course Delivery and Assessment Plan (CDAP)

A Course Delivery and Assessment Matrix will need to be completed for every course with a different delivery and/or assessment strategy.

The Department Staff Listing Plan identifies the staff who will be delivering each of the competencies within a course.

Staff who do not have the required teaching qualification will require a mentor. The details of these staff are recorded on the Teacher Mentoring Plan.

The Course Evaluation Plan identifies details of how the course will be evaluated.

The course needs to be entered on ASCOL using the Course/Module Database form

Delivery and Assessment
Students are given details of the competency or cluster of competencies which they will be studying. This form contains details about the competency, delivery, times, contact details and assessment strategies.

The information that needs to be provided to students is listed in this checklist. It includes such items as Department procedures for submission of assignments, OH&S procedures, facilities, RPL information, relevant dates, terminology and special consideration information.
Student Induction Checklist

Student attendance registers must be completed for each unit of competency or cluster of competencies delivered. The attendance register is also used to record assessments and results. A record of each attendance register needs to be kept.

Evaluation and Moderation

A Field of Study Panel is conducted to moderate assessment tools, evaluate competencies and identify actions. Details of these panels are recorded in a Field of Study Report.
FOSP Report

A course evaluation report records details of the course, student, staff and industry feedback and future actions.
