What is the role
of the Teaching and Learning Advisor?
Teaching and Learning Advisors
are available to casual and ongoing teaching staff, senior educators,
program coordinators and managers to provide assistance and support
and allow these staff to carry out their roles more efficiently
and effectively.
This support can come in many forms and
is available across all campuses.
Educators and facilitators have a myriad
of responsibilities, so having a support person available for consultation
should provide a useful resource for teaching staff.
What services do we offer?
We can offer assistance with delivery ideas,
induction for sessional staff, on-line learning support, AQTF compliance
issues, RPL queries, learning and assessment strategies, developing
learning plans for new courses; or perhaps there is another issue
you would like help with. Please contact us if you feel you would
like assistance with anything related to teaching and learning!!
The Ideas
Gateway provides an opportunity for staff to share their good
ideas and suggest ways of improving the way we work. Several times
a year, we will be asking for innovative ideas to improve or develop
new products or services. For more information, click on the link
above.

Swinburne Stories - Learning on the job
Swinburne has a tradition of best practice
when it comes to workplace delivery. These stories capture some of
the approaches being used by teachers and trainers in supporting
individuals to learn effectivly on the job.The stories reflect the
diversity of learning opportunities on offer and demonstrate how
they are underpinned by excellent teaching and learning practices.
In telling their stories teachers share
with us how they approached their work, the consultation with both
learners and employers and how critical clear expectations and good
relationships are in a workplace learning environment.
The stories reflect the committment and
energy of teachers and learners. Enjoy reading them, maybe they
will be a source of information and inspiration for you in your
current role.
