The Executive Memo 2004
About the Design Capability Professional Development initiative
The Design Capability Professional Development is part of the broader Victorian Government initiative titled the ‘Innovation Economy: Developing Victoria’s Design Capability’. This project is one of a suite of initiatives to develop priority strategic capabilities identified in the Government’s Innovation Economy policy. The aim of the 2004 project was to enhance the design thinking of TAFE staff in Victoria.
The Office of Training and Tertiary Education (OTTE) provided a grant to every TAFE Institute for staff to participate in a Learning by Design Workshop by 31 July 2004.
Swinburne University of Technology, TAFE Division was commissioned to facilitate the delivery of the Learning by Design Workshop across Victoria using a ‘train the trainer’ approach incorporating:
- Delivery of an Induction Workshop for Learning by Design Workshop coordinators from each institute
- Mentoring and support for each institute implementing the Learning by Design workshop and ongoing activities
