2005 Innovation Network Group (ING) - Who?
TAFE Development Centre officially launched
Last week, the Minister for Education and Training, Lynne Kosky, formally announced the establishment of the TAFE Development Centre, a new public company with the role of promoting the development and raising the professional standing of staff in Victorian TAFE Institutes.
Under the leadership of John Parish as Interim CEO, and with the guidance of an Interim Committee, considerable development work has already been undertaken and a number of key initiatives are now ready for full implementation.
The Centre will shortly issue invitations to submit 2005 funding applications for:
TAFE Teaching Fellowships
The TAFE Industry Skills Scheme
The TAFE Leadership Scheme
TAFE Teaching and Learning Excellence projects.
These will be coordinated for Swinburne by the Professional Development Unit.
Full contact details and further information about the Centre, its objectives and initiatives are available from its website at www.tafecentre.vic.edu.au
The TAFE Development Centre is a first for Australia and an important new venture for the Victorian TAFE system. Its establishment has involved much collaboration and positive engagement between OTTE, the Institutes, the employer association and the TAFE unions, and consultation with a wide range of VET sector stakeholders. |
