Skills Recognition
Skills recognition is the process by which you are assessed on your prior academic and work experience to gain acknowledgement of competencies and skills you have acquired.
Skills Recognition does not apply to the Agents Representative Course and the Certificate III in Real Estate (Traineeship) as these are entry level courses.
Recognition can be recognised in two ways
- Skills Recognition (RPL) experience gained in the work place. A student is required to work through a process of being competent in all aspects covered by the unit. This may be through challenge exams and portfolio work.
- Exemptions and Transfer apply where units of study have been completed at other Institutes and will be recognised upon presentation of official transcript of results.
Steps to assessing if you qualify to apply for Skills Recognition
- Self Assessment Tool
Refer to the document "Self Assessment for Certificate IV in Property Real Estate Agency Practice" at the School of Business Skills Recognition web site.
It provides brief unit descriptors to enable you to ascertain if you can provide appropriate evidence to apply for recognition.
- Apply for Skills Recognition by completing the Skills Recognition Application Form and forward with a copy of the Self Assessment for Certificate IV in Property document to Real Estate Studies - fax (9726 1774) or email realestate@swin.edu.au. A meeting with the real estate co-ordinator will then be scheduled.
