VET Environment and trends

Everyone in the TAFE Division is involved in planning. Strategic Development Group not only plans its own activities but also contributes to the overall planning of the Division in the following ways including but not limited to:

  • Facilitation of the Division’s program profile, including:

    • Submissions to OTTE

    • Planning the SCH and teaching load through TOMS

    • Conducting profile reviews with Directors and Departments

  • Preparation of summaries of various publications on

    • Industry Training Plans

    • Labour force trends

    • Research into education and training

    • Local government economic plans, and so on (Current summaries that are available can be found in Industry Training Plans and Environmental Scanning pages)

  • Facilitation of department planning days.

  • Co-ordination of, or contribution to, planning projects such as new facilities, introduction of new training areas and tenders.
