Strategic Development

The Strategic Development Group facilitates the preparation of the TAFE Division triennial Strategic Plan.

The strategic planning cycle involves:

  • Continuous monitoring of external factors such as trends in demography, industry and the labour force.
  • Responding to government policy in the education and training industry.
  • Analysing current organisational performance, student and staff profile.
  • Deriving a set of strategic directions within the context of the University Strategic Plan.

The cycle involves personnel at all levels of the organisation.

Each year strategic planning activities are held during which nominated representatives of TAFE Division managers and staff validate the key performance areas of the TAFE Division and propose some outcome measures for the upcoming year. Consultation across the Division is conducted with the draft plan being presented to the University Council in the new year.
