Australian Skills Vouchers

Welcome to Swinburne TAFE's Australian Skills Vouchers website.

Australian Skills Vouchers is an Australian Government Initiative that provides support for eligible Australians to undertake training in approved courses.

Work Skills Vouchers, worth $3,000, are available for Australian citizens or permanent residents who:

  • are 25 years or older; and
  • have not completed Year 12 or Certificate II level qualifications.

Business Skills Vouchers, worth $500, are available for:

  • apprentices or newly qualified tradespersons in traditional trades to undertake accredited business skills training.

Follow the links to find the courses we offer under each of these programs.

CESSATION OF VOUCHER ISSUE AND TERMINATION OF THE AUSTRALIAN SKILLS VOUCHERS PROGRAM

The Australian Skills Vouchers Program (ASVP) is set to conclude in the first half of 2008.

The government is committed to the delivery of 450,000 new training places in areas of skill shortage over the next four years commencing on 1 April 2008. To ensure a seamless transition, voucher issue for both Work Skills and Business Skills Vouchers for apprentices will cease effective 31 March 2008.

You are encouraged to keep up with developments in this area through the department's website at www.deewr.gov.au and look for opportunities for your organisation to participate in the delivery of training under the new arrangements.

The Swinburne website will be updated as we receive new information.
